Holiday News & Notes!

It’s almost time for Thanksgiving! And you know what that means…

Yes, that means it’s still not time for Christmas decorations to go up. So stop it. Bad.

But more than that, it means that Holiday Matsuri is right around the corner!

aniRAGE is proud to once again be returning to Orlando for this great convention, and we’re once again pulling out all the stops! What are we bringing this year?

First off, there’s our classic Whose Line is it aniRAGE? Show! We’ll be bringing some great new games and old classics! And of course our Whose Line is it aniRAGE? Uncensored! 18+ show will be returning as well! We can’t wait to see what you guys makes us do.

Another classic aniRAGE show returns, this time with a holiday theme! That’s right, Anime XD makes it’s return to Holiday Matsuri! Kerby has cooked up some great holiday themed clips for us. And to join in on the fun, Dashi has been cranking out his own Christmas version of What the Japan? We’re calling it What the Christmas? and it’s sure to be a great time.

At the first Holiday Matsuri in 2011, we debuted aniRAGE Remembers: Holiday Specials! We sat around and reminisced about our favorite specials from the days of yore. Last year we stepped it up a notch, and pit your favorite specials head to head in the ultimate competition to crown the Greatest Holiday Special Ever. The winner: How The Grinch Stole Christmas narrowly beat out the Charlie Brown Christmas Special and Nightmare Before Christmas. It even beat out lauded favorite Die Hard!

This year we are taking it to the next level. It’s one thing to let the bigwigs up in Hollywood make a great holiday movie or special, it’s another thing to do exactly what they can’t do: make it our own! Of course, over the course of one panel we can’t film, edit, and direct a full special, but that doesn’t mean we can’t take your suggestions and spin together the plot of our own! So come join us as we try to draft together the greatest holiday story ever!

And speaking of holiday stories, how could anybody forget the classic holiday tale starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sinbad: Jingle All The Way? Seriously, how can you forget that? We’ve been trying to for years. This year at Holiday Matsuri, join us as we get together to laugh along with (but mostly at) this charming tale of Christmas Greed. Or whatever the moral was supposed to be. Maybe we’ll actually figure it out?

The aniRAGE Con Season Is About To Kick In!

Greetings everyone! Zeke here. I know we’ve been quiet lately, but fear not! We have some great news!

Coming up in November is ShadoCon Year 3: Origins! Once again aniRAGE will be showing up to put on our Whose Line is it aniRAGE? Shows! We’re bringing back what we debuted last year, the 18+ Whose Line show, as well as our standard PG-13 style show. We’re super excited to be back for a third year, and we can’t wait to see everyone there.

A month afater that we make our triumphant return to Orlando for Holiday Matsuri! This is there second year, and we are super excited that they are bringing us back once more. We’ll update you guys with more information on what shows and panels we’ll be bringing as information develops. Stay tuned!

And finally, BelleCon has their website up and running, and ready to accept tickets! We’re super excited to be a part of this first year convention with long-time aniRAGE collaborated, Animebelle! Again, we’ll post more information about what panels and shows we’ll be bringing and it develops, but we are excited to once again bring great entertainment to Northeast Florida, and where many members of aniRAGE call home: Jacksonville Florida!

A recap of some great new shows!

These past few months have been super busy for aniRAGE, and we are happy to say that some great new shows have come out of it. At Holiday Matsuri and Khaotic Kon we were able to try out some new stuff, and we are happy to report that some are going to be entering our repertoire!

I’ll start off with the first one, our 18+ Whose Line is it aniRAGE? Uncensored! Often times we get suggestions and ideas from the audience that we have to say no to, for one reason or another. Most aniRAGE shows are going to be PG to PG-13, depending on what the con demands. But in Whose Line is it aniRAGE? Uncensored! we’re tossing all that out the window! Our first three shows were great, and we hope to be able to bring this new variation of our popular show to you again and again!

Next up is aniRAGE Remembers. This idea was birthed after Kirby and I spent almost an entire afternoon watching old saturday morning cartoon theme songs and pre-commercial spots. We quickly realized that we could make a panel out of this, so at Holiday Matsuri we busted out the seasonal and timely “aniRAGE Remembers: Holiday Specials”. It was a great time, with everyone coming together and reminiscing about the childhood specials that with us through the ages, for good reasons OR bad! At Khaotic Kon we moved on to Saturday Morning Cartoons, and we had a great time talking about ABC, USA, Fox, and more. We’re happy to say that this will be a panel we keep going with, so stay tuned for when it shows up next!

At Khaotic Kon, we finally incorporated a big guilty pleasure of most of aniRAGE…Wrestling! The aniRAGE Wrestle Rumble was a smashing success. Not only did I get to show off some of my replica wrestling belts, but we got to hear some awesome stories from the crowd about how they got into wrestling, who their favorite wrestler of “all the times” was, and some of our favorite entrance music. We hope to bring this back soon!
Next up, at Holiday Matsuri, Dashi and I unleashed our Minecraft panel. We went over some fun building tips, how to work with redstone, and how to get inspiration for different building projects. We also went over a few different mods for the game, including the much loved Technic Pack. We have some big plans for this panel in the future, so keep an eye out for it.

And finally, we had the aniRAGE Trivia Challenge. What started off as a fun little hallway experiment at one con turned into a full-blown panel, where contestants competed for fabulous prizes and more. We had a great showing, and we are fast at work brainstorming some new game show ideas for everyone to enjoy. So definitely be on the lookout for those!

It was a fun winter, and this year looks like it’ll be just as good! Keep your eyes tuned to aniRAGE.com for all the latest and greatest news about new panels, new shows, and more!

Return of the Kings!

After months of painstaking procrastination hard work, I, your Lord and Master, Zeke, have gotten the aniRAGE.com servers back up and working.  Things are still a bit shaky, but I’ll be trying my hardest not to let them go down for a couple months again.

What have we been up to in that time? Lots and lots of preparation for Khaotic Kon!  That’s right, this past weekend was yet another brand new con to the Florida con scene, and aniRAGE was there to kick it off in style!  We had three amazing panels, our aniRAGE Wrestle Rumble, aniRAGE Remembers: Saturday Morning Cartoons, and our marquee event, Whose Line is it aniRAGE!  We were very pleased with the turn out, and we thank everyone who came by to see us perform. 

The next few months will be light as far as cons go, but stay tuned for more great pictures, awesome videos, and compelling articles right here on aniRAGE.com!  We’re back, baby, and if I have any say in it, we won’t be going down any time soon!

Time to cast our Shadows over “ShadoCon II”!

Hey everyone! The monk is here and is as excited as all get-out over the upcoming convention “Shadocon”. It’s only a couple of days away, now, and we’re all TOTALLY stoked at the opprotunity to be back there for another adventurous, fun-filled, comedy packed weekend of awesome! With new games, an uncensored show, returning guest, and plenty of laughs in store: YOU JUST CAN’T MISS THIS ONE, FOLKS! Also, be sure to check out Anime Belle’s Fairytale Theatre were we will be joining their crew to bring you the best in Japanese theatre, Manzai comedy, and awesome stories STRAIGHT from Japan’s vast amounts of lore, mythos, and legends. It’s going to be a real BLAST!

Con News! Shadocon in 1 week…plus unwrap aniRAGe this holiday season!

Greetings loyal minions! Zeke here with some excellent news!

First of all, Shadocon’s 2nd year is kicking off in one week down in Tampa, Florida! aniRAGE is super excited to be going back for our second time, and we have some amazing panels planned out for you guys…including a panel concept that’s been long discussed, but we’ve yet to do! Next, we are proud to announce that we will be guests, and performing, at the first ever Holiday Matsuri convention, coming to Orlando this Xmas season! A surprise trip to an Ancient City… Convention, that is!

Greetings loyal aniRAGErs! Miroku here, and I have to say that today was plenty of awesome! I and my fiancee, Jenny, were invited to come and spend the day with Pika-Belle Chu at local, Jacksonville based, Ancient City Con (A.C.C. for short) and we accepted her generous offer and joined her in the fun. Dressed in Naruto Cosplay, we joined in her panel and were later joined by Zeke whom brought his trusty camera and Lupin the Third cosplay along for the fun and the off chance fo catching some great gamers/cosplayers in action. A.C.C. is running it’s fifth year and is a hometown fav for roleplayers, cosplayers, and all other convention based enthusists. There were some interesting panels, a nice registration area, a fun gaming room, and a decent dealers area… And, did I mention that all of the above (with exception to panels) all existed in one room? It was quirky, but interesting at the same time. Jenny and I didn’t stay all day, but we really enjoyed our time and hope that they have alot more fun, tomorrow, as the con will be continuing on through Sunday.
